Marcie Phalen is a Registered Nurse (RN) based in Columbus, Ohio, who holds a Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) and is currently working toward her Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner Board Certification (PMHNP-BC). She has long been dedicated to the field of mental health, striving to expand access to care while working to eliminate the
stigma associated with psychiatric conditions. Her commitment to delivering thoughtful, individualized support is a constant throughout her professional life.
Raised in Bexley, a close-knit community just outside Columbus, Marcie was influenced by her parents, both experienced Ph.D. psychologists from an early age. Their commitment to ethical practice and respectful care was an essential example, showing her the impact of meaningful therapeutic relationships. Observing their work, Marcie developed a strong belief in the importance of listening to patients, treating each one with dignity, and understanding principles that would later define her nursing career.
She completed her Bachelor of Science in Nursing at Aspen University in Phoenix, Arizona. While completing her degree, she volunteered at local mental health facilities and developed hands-on experience in patient care. In 2022, she earned her BSN and began working in a psychiatric unit at a Columbus hospital. She also earned certification through the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC), reinforcing her dedication to upholding high professional standards.
Marcie began her healthcare career in 2009 as a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) with Maxim Staffing. In that role, she provided hospice care and worked closely with patients and families, offering steady, compassionate support through end-of-life care. Later, she joined The Woods at Parkside, where she helped individuals dealing with both substance use and mental health issues. Her experiences in these settings deepened her understanding of complex patient needs and inspired her to take on greater responsibility. In 2020, she assumed a supervisory RN/BSN role at Rivervista Health and Wellness, where she currently leads patient assessments and develops care plans that integrate therapy and medication.
Marcie continues participating in local mental health education and outreach initiatives to empower individuals and communities through early intervention and preventative care. Outside of her professional responsibilities, she values time spent reading, practicing yoga, and being with family and friends. Marcie Phalen remains steadfast in her mission to support mental health and foster healing for those in need.
