Marcel Tromp joined the Magnum team in July 2007 with the acquisition of the Consumer Products Group from LSI Corporation and serves as the Vice President of Hardware Engineering. Marcel is responsible for all chip and board development as well as product and test engineering. He has over 15 years of experience in defining, architecting, and
managing complex System-on-Chip (SoC) designs. While developing consumer media processing solutions, he has guided hardware, software and systems design from concept to mass production. As a Fellow at LSI, Marcel was responsible for architecture and technology development, as well as for managing patent and standards activities for the Consumer Products Group. Prior to LSI, Marcel was Vice President of Engineering at Pixel works, where he was responsible for media processor design and DTV processor system architecture. He was Chief Architect and later Vice President of Engineering at Equator Technologies, where he was responsible for all hardware, software, and systems design as well as operations. He also served as Chief Architect at TriMedia Technologies and held various senior engineering positions at Philips Semiconductor and Philips Research. Marcel holds a M.Sc. degree in Electrical Engineering from the University of Twente in the Netherlands.
