Maurits Cornelis Escher is a world- renowned graphic artist whose work is featured on internet websites. He is most famous for his “Impossible Constructions”, such as Ascending and Descending,Relativity, Transformation Prints, such asMetamorphosis I, Metamorphosis II, Metamorphosis III, Sky & Water I, and Reptiles.
During his lifetime, Escher
made 448 lithographs, woodcuts and wood engravings, and over 2000 drawings and sketches. He also illustrated books, designed tapestries, postage stamps, and murals. Escher is a graduate of the School for Architecture and Decorative Arts in Haarlem.
