Lukas has a degree in sustainable engineering and has previous experience with many sustainability-focused projects. His love for sustainability came after spending 59 days at sea alone while rowing 3,000 miles across the Atlantic Ocean from Europe to America. There in the middle of the Atlantic Ocean, when the closest people to him were astronauts
at the International Space Station, Lukas found surprising amounts of household rubbish, hundreds of miles away from land. Together with the lack of wildlife those were big warning signs of the realities of climate change. That motivated him to do something about it, and his immediate next action was a project called Pedal 4 Parks – an environmental documentary soon to be featured on Amazon Prime. He holds the three Guinness world records:
- “Youngest person to row across the Atlantic East to West solo”
- “Youngest person to row across any ocean solo”
- “Youngest male to row across any ocean solo”
