Dr. Lori A. Kunkel serves as Chief Medical Officer. In this role at previous companies Pharmacyclics and Proteolix, Dr. Kunkel provided critical leadership in the development of two recently approved drugs, Ibrutinib (Imbruvica) and Carfilzomib (Kyprolis).
Dr. Kunkel’s career in drug development has also included roles at ACT Therapeutics,
Syndax, Xencor, Genitope, Genentech, Chiron and Baxter Healthcare.
Dr. Kunkel trained in internal medicine at Baylor College of Medicine, and in hematology-oncology at UCLA, earning board certification in these specialties. Dr. Kunkel received her M.D. from UCLA and her B.A. degree from UCSD.
