Lloyd Ratner, M.D., M.P.H., is professor of surgery and director of renal and pancreatic transplantation at Columbia University/NY Presbyterian Hospital in New York.
He has served as a member of the membership and professional standards committee and its performance analysis and improvement subcommittee. He also was a member of the kidney
paired donation workgroup and previously served on the kidney transplantation committee.
Dr. Ratner serves on the council (board of directors) and the living donor committee of the American Society of Transplant Surgeons (ASTS). He also is chair of the board of directors of New York Organ Donor Network and a member of its critical care working group, previously serving as chair of the medical advisory board. He was a member of the ASTS/American Society of Transplantation/NATCO joint societies workgroup on living kidney donor policy. He has served on the medical advisory board of Gift of Life Donor Program and the National Kidney Foundation of Maryland and on the board of directors of the Transplant Resource Center of Maryland (now, the Living Legacy Foundation).
He earned his medical degree at Hahnemann University School of Medicine in Philadelphia and a master's degree of public health from Columbia University in New York.
