Prior to Kyruus, Leon was the Chief Compliance and Privacy Officer for the Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center, a Harvard Medical School affiliate. During his tenure, he created and instituted a comprehensive compliance program covering corporate compliance, research compliance, privacy, and conflicts of interest.
Leon began his career as a
general surgeon at the former Beth Israel Hospital in Boston. He held a number of leadership roles with Beth Israel including, Director of Undergraduate Education for the Department of Surgery in charge of clinical clerkships and interim Chief of the Department of Surgery until the search for a full time Chief was completed. Leon also served as Chief of the Division of Education for the Department of Surgery.
He holds a B.A. and M.D. from Boston University.
