Dr. Ruff received her Ph.D. in Biomedical Sciences from the University of California, San Diego (UCSD), where she formed multidisciplinary collaborations to design dendritic cell-targeted nanoparticle vaccines and test these vaccines’ ability to induce T cell responses in mouse models. She was awarded an NIH fellowship to perform this work and
co-patented one of these nanoparticles. She went on to do her postdoctoral training in Dr. Messmer’s laboratory at the UCSD Moores Cancer Center, where she was again awarded a fellowship from the NIH, to develop DNA nanoparticles specific for primary cancer cells. Following completion of the fellowship, she joined Abreos full-time. She brings to Abreos over 17 years of experience in the fields of immunology, virology, nanotechnology, cancer, molecular and cellular biology.
