Laura Ashforth is an Associate on the Investment team in London where she works on sourcing and due diligence of investment opportunities and portfolio management. Laura focuses on late-stage investing.
Prior to joining Atomico, Laura spent two-and-a-half years leading the strategic and financial planning function at Improbable where she was a key
adviser to the executive team. She helped the company scale from 150 to over 600 employees and saw it expand its presence in China, Canada, the USA, and Germany. Laura began her career in Equity Research where she spent four years at Morgan Stanley covering the European Technology, Media, and Telecoms sectors, advising institutional investors and bringing multiple companies to market.
Laura graduated from Jesus College, Cambridge with a 1st class BA in Natural Sciences and is a CFA charter holder.
Outside of work, Laura is most likely to be found trekking and is very keen to return to Patagonia and the Himalayas. When in London, she keeps fit by running and is currently training for her first triathlon. She looks to balance her work and hobbies with a family life that unusually includes two house rabbits – a decision she will readily admit was ‘quite spontaneous’.
