on low-dimensional semiconductors, such as nanowires, and for the physics and applications made possible by these structures, His research on Semiconductor Nanowires was in 2006 selected as one of the top ten research environments for all areas of science in Sweden. Appointed Fellow of the Institute of Physics in the UK (2004). Member of the Royal Swedish Academy of Sciences (Physics) (2006) and Engineering Sciences (2007). Awarded the “Einstein Professorship” by the Chinese Academy of Sciences (2008) Appointed Fellow of the American Physical Society (Materials Physics) (2009) Awarded the IDEON Prize for Innovation (2011) Awarded the IUVSTA Prize for Science (2013) for the period 2010-2013.
