Lane A. DeCoster is Senior Vice President, Chief Underwriting Officer, and Underwriting Services Division Manager of GenStar. He leads corporate underwriting, referral underwriting, actuarial pricing, data analytics, predictive modeling, coverage wording, state filings and regulatory compliance, and catastrophe management for enterprise risk
management. He has the same roles for Genesis. Prior to assuming these positions for GenStar in 2015, he was a Vice President and Senior Referral Officer for GenStar and Genesis. Lane’s career began at The Home Insurance Company as a commercial underwriter. In 1987, Lane joined the Gen Re Group and held various reinsurance positions in underwriting, marketing, and management in Treaty, Casualty Facultative Programs, and initially Genesis. Lane received a BS degree from the University of Vermont.
