Lan CHEN received her M.E and Ph.D. degrees from the Department of Communications and Computer Engineering of Kyoto University. She joined the NTT DOCOMO in 1999 and was doing research on radio resource management for 4G. In 2004, she was appointed as the director of Advanced Wireless System Lab of DOCOMO Beijing Lab, where she was leading the lab
to focus on research on LTE and LTE-Advanced and contributed in 3GPP standardization. From 2013 to 2016, she was the manager of Radio Access Network Development division of NTT DOCOMO, where she involved in the development and the enhancement of commercial radio NW. Since July 2016, she is the president and CEO of DOCOMO Beijing Labs, leading the cutting-edge research on 5G, 5G+ for future radio network, and deep learning AI innovation for new service. She received the Best Paper Awards in ICT2002, ChinaCom2012, and ITU-AJ Accomplishment Awards in 2018.
