Lamia Joined Innovations in April 2013 as a Senior Executive Technology Transfer focusing on physical sciences. Lamia has 15 years’ experience in the high tech industry; five years in the technology transfer and venture capital industry preceded by seven years' experience in high-growth TMT companies in Boston area (US). She has been involved
throughout the spin-out creation process including commercial and IP assessment through to negotiating and drafting deal terms, portfolio management and Fund representation on company boards.
She joined Innovations from the University of Surrey where she was Technology Transfer Manager responsible for commercialising all physical science projects through the creation of spin outs and licences and managing a proof of concept fund. Prior to that, she was a Venture Capital Investment Manager at Rainbow Seed Fund (Midven) where she lead investment rounds, built senior management teams and sat on the board of four technology start-ups. Earlier roles include business development, product development and R&D for three US start-ups, CoreTek (exited at over $1.4bn), Quantum Bridge Communications and SMaL Camera Technologies (an MIT start-up acquired by Cypress semiconductors). Lamia has a 1st class degree in Physics (Montpellier), MSc in Optoelectronics (Lannion), a PhD in Electrical Engineering (UCL) and is currently doing an Executive MBA (Surrey).
