Kurt Hoeven is the Chief Executive Officer of Blue Ocean Holdings, LLC, an affiliate of Blue Ocean Enterprises.
Kurt focuses on building businesses, identifying business leaders and start-up firms for potential investment, and strategically investing in commercial real estate. He has decades of experience managing businesses in every stage of
development. His extensive corporate management experience includes eight years at Hewlett-Packard and the May Company, after which he focused his consultation on emerging companies undergoing significant transformation and/or growth.
Hoeven has been involved in the acquisition and management of numerous companies in a variety of industries and has played an active role in the formation and management of many start-up companies. He is passionate about working with business leaders, assisting them in building their companies, and advising them to successfully navigate all phases of the business cycle.
Hoeven began advising technology case manufacturer OtterBox in 2001 and served as its Chief Financial Officer during a period of rapid growth. In 2011, he moved into his current role as OtterBox’s Global Finance Officer and board director and was instrumental that year in creating Blue Ocean Holdings, LLC and Blue Ocean Enterprises Inc.
Hoeven received a master of business administration degree from the Harvard Business School and graduated Phi Beta Kappa from the University of California at Berkeley with a bachelor’s degree in economics.
