Mr. Kuo Yun graduated from the Air Force institute of Aeronautical Technology,
and received further education from the Air Force Institute for Technology and
the Defense Industrial College in the United States. The later training, which
he received in the States, has led to his keen interest in information
technology and cast great impact
upon his subsequent career. He is the
forerunner in applying information technology to the automation and integration
of logistic support related systems for the military services. The successful
implementation of these systems has resulted in substantial resources and cost
saving and efficiency improvements.
In 1982, Mr. Kuo was named the President of the Institute for Information
Industry (III) with the mission to assist the development of then infancy
information industry in Taiwan. Then, he was dispatched to Washington, D.C.,
to head the Defense Procurement & Service Mission in 1984. His hard working
and dedication has helped to overcome many procurement obstacles to successful
acquisition and technology transfer of the IDF (indigenous Defense Fighter)
technology and many other advanced defense systems procurement. These
outstanding accomplishments had resulted in his promotion to the rank of full
general and decorations.
