Kunal has a Masters and Bachelors’ Degree in Engineering from Indian Institute of Technology (IIT), Bombay, specializing in Aerospace. Kunal was a part of India’s pioneering Low Cost Carrier - Air Deccan, where he conceptualized and implemented Operation Research based projects. He was also responsible for setting up the Operations Research
Department for Air Deccan.
With SDS since 2008, Kunal leads Optimization Projects in areas like Commercial, Crew and Fleet planning. Optimizers delivered under his guidance have been successfully implemented in AirPhil Express, Cebu Pacific Air, Air India, Air Baltic and most recently, AirAsia.
Kunal is also a member of AGIFORS (Airline Group of the International Federation of Operational Research Societies)
