Klaus Esser has worked at GA since 2000, focusing on the firm's investments in Europe and now serves as an Advisory Director. He is the Chairman of the board for AMEDES AG, and Navigon AG. He is also a member of the board of CompuGroup Holding AG. Previously he served as Chairman for GWI, Ixos, and TDS, all former GA portfolio companies.
Prior to joining General Atlantic, Mr. Esser spent 23 years at Mannesmann AG, where he was Chairman of the Executive Board since 1999 and, prior to this, CFO since 1994.
Mr. Esser is a past Chairman of Schmalenbach-Gesellschaft, the German MBA Association.
Mr. Esser earned a Law Degree from Ludwig-Maximilians-University in Munich, Germany, a PhD in tax law from the University of Regensburg, Germany, and an S.M. in Management from the Sloan School of Management, Massachusetts Institute of Technology.
