Kimi is PurpleSky’s Investment Manager, in charge of scouting investment opportunities in the fields of internet and mobile internet, including industrial services, online finance, and consumer upgrades, as well as new and developing internet-related fields.

He is a graduate of Beijing Language and Culture University. Before entering the

investment business, Kimi was an early employee at 36Kr.com, a platform focused on tech media for China’s vibrant start-up scene that provided him with ground-floor access to the first wave of mobile internet companies.

As an author and reporter on early-stage projects, Kimi tracked down and covered a range of start-ups, including Shequ001, DaXiang, MYOTee, MomentCam, P2PEye, and SouChe. After leaving 36Kr.com, Kimi started his own company in the used-car business, which from 2014 aimed to facilitate the easy exchange of used cars between dealers. He counts the decision as his proudest moment.

Armed with the context and Roledex of his days as a start-up journalist, as well as the hard-nosed awareness and work ethic of the seasoned entrepreneur, Kimi supplies sharply honed intuition and an analytical mind. He also possesses the judgment necessary to sift the wheat from the chaff when it comes to picking a portfolio, and the practiced understanding needed to maintain a healthy relationship once the company is on board.
