Kevin Morris brings with him a diverse set of experiences in marketing, communications and strategic planning to his new role at Operation HOPE.
An adopted preacher’s kid born in Harlem and raised all over New York, Kevin studied History at Brooklyn College and Marketing at Pace University. After working briefly in economics research at the
Federal Home Loan Bank, Kevin cut his corporate teeth in packaged goods marketing and product development, managing and consulting on major brands in the personal care and household cleaning categories for Avon Products, L&F Products (now Reckitt-Benckiser), and Nabisco on such national brands as LYSOL and Mop&Glo, for over 15 years.
For the past twenty years, or so, Kevin has provided strategic communications and marketing consulting to several major corporations and non-profit organizations including UMB Bank, UtiliCorp United, the American Jazz Museum, Children’s Defense Fund, and the Urban League of Greater Kansas City, as well as a number of pro bono community clients.
Kevin enthusiastically worked his way onto the HOPE team after editing the 2013 HOPE Dignity Summit Report, and assisting Mr. Bryant with his latest book,How the Poor Can Save Capitalism.
A political junkie, counterfeit West Indian, essayist, poet, NPR geek, vegan, cook, and father of two young men, Kevin now lives, volunteers and writes in Kansas City, Missouri.
