Beginning his career at Unilever in 1994 with their Management Training
Program, Keith worked in brand management and business development for five years primarily in Toronto but with roles also in New York and Calgary. Following his passion for technology, sports, and interactive entertainment, Keith joined Electronic Arts in 1999, commencing in Seattle and then moving to Vancouver in 2003.
Keith held the position of Vice President of Global Marketing for two divisions at Electronic Arts from 2005–2013. In this role he managed teams across studios in Vancouver, Montreal, Orlando, and London and led a portfolio of businesses including Need for Speed, FIFA, NBA LIVE, NHL, UFC, Def Jam, Skate, and numerous others over his career. As Vice President, Keith oversaw long-term business planning and P&Ls, brand and franchise strategy, product positioning, marketing communications, go-to-market planning, international marketing, new business model evolution (F2P, SaaS), and the PR and social media related to these projects. The role also involved full integration with product development to best realize design visions and commercial potential, weaving consumer insights into the dev process. Amongst other achievements, Keith drove over 100 million units sold on the Need for Speed brand alone, which is more than any other single franchise owner in EA’s history.
Throughout his career, Keith has been a staunch crusader of the consumer insights process and translating these insights into powerful positioning, branding, and marketing strategies. He brings a keen understanding of consumers’ behavioral foundation around products, franchises, and brands.
Keith left Electronic Arts in Sept 2013 after 14 years and is consulting, lecturing, investing, travelling, and otherwise enjoying early retirement (for now). He and his family currently reside in Austin, TX.
