Katrin Suder is the Chair of the Supervisory Board of DHL. She previously worked at McKinsey & Company as a Senior Partner. Born in 1971, Dr. Katrin Suder has been appointed State Secretary at the Federal Ministry of Defence on 1 August 2014. She is responsible for Equipment, Information Technology and In-Service Support as well as matters of
the Planning Directorate. Before her appointment as State Secretary Katrin Suder worked for the consulting firm McKinsey & Company from 2000 to 2014. She headed various projects in Germany and abroad, notably in information and communications technology and the public sector and in the areas of strategy, IT/technology and transformation. Katrin Suder studied physics at RTHW Aachen University and at Jülich Research Centre from 1990 to 1996, earning the degree Diplom-Physikerin. She then went on to receive her doctoral degree in computational neuroscience (Dr. rer. nat.) at the Institute for Neural Computation of the Ruhr University Bochum, for her thesis on neuronal information processing in the primary visual pathway in 2000.
