JW is the Founder and Managing Director of Backlog Capital, LLC a boutique Venture Debt fund focusing on lending to technology companies. JW is also the CEO and Founder of WebTeach.com, a cloud based marketplace for teachers and students to connect with each other and conduct on-line education.
In october 2010 JW retired from Learn.com after
the sale of Learn.com to Taleo (NASDQ: TLEO), a SaaS Talent Management leader. As the first investor and co-founder, JW helped take Learn.com from $50,000 in revenue to just under $30,000,000 in a hyper competitive market place. JW was responsible for the day-to-day field operations of the company and developing comprehensive sales and marketing programs.
Prior to co-founding Learn.com, JW previously served as a Senior Vice President at Morgan Stanley and Assistant Vice President at Merrill Lynch for 8 years. He spent over 10 years in the food and beverage industry, including owning his own restaurant at 19 years of age. JW also served proudly in the U.S. Army.
