As Advisor on All Things Fun, Meaningful & Rewarding, Julie believes that making a positive impact in the world is fundamental to authentic personal and community happiness.
Julie’s path to corporate philanthropy started as a founding member of the Salesforce.com Foundation in 2000 after a serendipitous meeting with Founder and CEO, Marc
Benioff.
As part of the 1/1/1 model of integrated philanthropy, she launched the award winning employee volunteer program. Julie built and led the signature Salesforce Foundation BizAcademy program for high school students who are interested in entrepreneurism. It brought the students and Salesforce employees together to go through the hands-on process of building a company.
After her 12 year tenure as VP of All Things Fun, Meaningful & Rewarding at the Salesforce.com Foundation, Julie became the Executive Director of the Workday Foundation. She created systems and programs for employee engagement and an impact grant program funding innovative ideas in health and education.
Julie applies her 14 years of experience in corporate philanthropy with those eager to create change and solve social challenges locally and globally. She works with emerging companies to design innovative integrated philanthropy programs where their product, services and people can provide resources that make positive change. She also advises budding young entrepreneurs.
With her M.Ed in education and a classroom teacher and technology specialist in Atlanta, she too had her own aha moments, as she managed a network of 300 computers in a middle school with no formal training. She was named Apple Distinguished Educator in 1998.
