Julia Hoeng is Director of Systems Toxicology at Philip Morris International Research & Development where she leads the Systems Toxicology Biology Program, covering a portfolio of projects from in vitro, in vivo and in silico research for product testing.
In collaboration with academic and industry stakeholders Julia developed the sbv IMPROVER
platform https://sbvimprover.com/ and demonstrated with her team that crowd sourcing is a viable strategy to verify scientific methods and concepts in an industrial context.
Julia holds several patents related to protein biochemistry, computational biology, biotechnology and has published over 100 peer reviewed scientific articles, book chapters and invited strategic reviews in the field of Systems Toxicology, Inhalation Toxicology, Crowd Sourcing, Molecular and Computational Biology
She holds a PhD Cambridge University and a MS in Bioinformatics from the Georgia Institute of Technology, Atlanta, Georgia, USA.
