Joyce Hunter is the Acting Chief Information Officer (CIO) and the Deputy CIO for Policy and Planning for the Department of Agriculture. With over 30 years’ experience in the information technology industry, Hunter has demonstrated a strong ability to build and sustain relationships with public/private stakeholders, and develop and lead
innovative projects and inter-agency initiatives. As the Deputy CIO for Policy and Planning, she provides executive leadership and strategic direction over the Technology Strategic Plan, Capitol Planning, Enterprise Architecture, e-Government, Policy, IT Governance, Geospatial technology and IT Workforce Planning. As the CIO, Hunter is the chief advisor to the Secretary and other senior executives on all aspects of sustaining and developing new automation initiatives and information systems technology.
