Josh Block is Chief Strategy Officer for Songkick. With more than a decade of experience in the live music industry, Block joined CrowdSurge, a direct-to-fan ticketing platform, in 2011 as Vice President. As CrowdSurge announced its merger with renowned concert discovery app Songkick, Block’s strategic guidance to develop innovative technologies
that would transform the live industry through discovery and ticketing led to his promotion to Chief Strategy Officer in 2015.
Block’s roots in live music are deep, and provide a unique, big-picture perspective of the industry, dating back to his work at UltraStar Entertainment where he managed The Rolling Stones’ digital rights. At UltraStar, Block also supported a wide range of artists including AC/DC, Red Hot Chili Peppers, Mariah Carey, The Police and David Bowie. Upon Live Nation’s acquisition of UltraStar, Josh assumed a Senior Client Manager position at Live Nation and began working primarily with Jay-Z before joining Beyoncé's management team at Parkwood Pictures leading her digital strategy and online marketing initiatives.
Block received a Bachelor’s degree in Music and Society from New York University. He is currently based in Songkick’s Brooklyn, New York office.
