Jordan Rodbell is an accomplished medical practice manager and substance abuse counselor who makes his home in Atlanta, Georgia. Jordan is currently a Master’s Degree Candidate at the Emory University Rollins School of Public Health, and is expected to complete his studies there in 2016. His focus at the school is in health policy and management with a special concentration in Mental Health. He is dual-enrolled at the Goizueta Business School at Emory, where he is taking coursework in entrepreneurship. This blended education has helped prepare him for expertise in practice management at any number of healthcare facilities, giving him unique insights into business development and marketing of health-oriented institutions or non-governmental organizations. Once he completes his education, it is a surety that Jordan’s diverse work and personal experiences will quickly make him a vital asset to any organization he works with. His talent for analyzing client needs and his foundation in management have long-range implications for his career. He is regarded by his peers as someone who is not afraid to take charge in the effort to achieve personal and professional goals. This is a valuable attribute, especially in a challenging field such as public health policy. Jordan is open to traveling abroad in order to attain the career goals he has set for himself when he began his education.
Jordan Ross Rodbell earned a Bachelor of Science degree in 2003 from Yeshiva University on the Lower East Side of New York City. This private university, founded in 1886, has the distinction of being the oldest institution of higher learning that combines Jewish scholarship with liberal arts studies. At Yeshiva, Jordan obtained his undergraduate degree in Business Administration, concentrating on Management Information Systems. That coursework led him to hone his skills in the IT field. He served as a systems engineer at a Network Systems firm in New York before taking over as systems administrator for the Queens Boulevard Extended Care Facility in Woodside, NY. He oversaw a team of technicians supporting the facility’s networking and software infrastructure and developed a keen ability to break down highly-complex technical knowledge into information into an easily-understandable format. His leadership experience with the IT team he supervised helped him by preparing him to work in larger organizations. Jordan is able to quickly become a vital part of any team he works with, bringing his vast problem-solving skillset and his boundless energy to focus on the issues that shape an organization’s daily operations. Jordan excels at streamlining work processes and improving systems, and has used that skill for the betterment of several healthcare facilities in the southern United States.
After relocating to Ocklawaha, Florida in 2011, Jordan Rodbell entered the substance abuse treatment field, first working as a house manager for an inpatient treatment center before transitioning to a role as an admissions associate. Jordan was able to interact with incoming and established patients at the facility. He met with families to discuss treatment options and the costs associated with inpatient care. Throughout his work at the facility, Jordan coordinated with the clinical and medical staff to streamline work processes, applying his systems management experience in a way that benefitted the organization greatly. His work documenting substance abuse patients’ behavioral histories and reasons for seeking treatment was met with appreciation by the medical staff there; Jordan’s expert writing skills and creative approach to problem solving made him a valuable asset to the team.
Jordan moved once again in 2012, this time to Atlanta. He transitioned to a role as practice manager for a pediatric clinic in the city, developing key marketing strategies for the organization while streamlining business and financial operations there. His background in systems administration paid dividends here, too; he was able to improve patient care systems and help manage human resources that allowed the medical practice to grow exponentially.
As he completes his Master’s degree at Emory University, Jordan looks forward to a future of helping healthcare organizations provide crucial public health services.
