Jonathon S. Jacobson is the founder of HighSage Ventures LLC, a private investment firm formed in 2019. Mr. Jacobson co-founded Highfields Capital Management LP, a Boston-based investment management firm, in 1998 where he serves as Chief Investment Officer and Chief Executive Officer. Highfields managed $12 billion internationally on behalf of
endowments, foundations, pension funds and other institutional investors. Before founding Highfields, Mr. Jacobson was a senior portfolio manager at Harvard Management Company. He served as a Director of iHeartMedia, Inc. and iHeartCommunications, Inc., and is a former member of the Asset Managers' Committee of the President's Working Group on Financial Markets, formed in 2007 to promote dialogue between asset managers and the Federal Reserve Board and Department of the Treasury. In 2006-2014, Jacobson served as Vice Chair of the Brandeis University Board of Trustees. He also served on the Board of Dean’s Advisors at the Harvard Business School and as a Trustee of the Birthright Israel Foundation. His current volunteer roles include Chairman of the International Board of Trustees of Israel’s Institute for National Security Studies and he is on the Investment Committee of the Weizmann Global Endowment Management Trust. He is a Lifetime Trustee of the Gilman School in Baltimore, Maryland and a co-Trustee of the One8 Foundation together with his wife Joanna. Mr. Jacobson earned an M.B.A. from Harvard Business School in 1987 and a B.S. in Economics from the Wharton School, University of Pennsylvania in 1983, graduating magna cum laude. He and Joanna live in Boston and have three adult children.
