> Jonathan (Jon) Fried is an American entrepreneur, consumer protection advocate in banking and finance, and community philanthropist. He is the founder of RegisterStocks.com and Fortune e-Vault, an equity and private holdings registry for investors, funds, and companies. A former consumer protection attorney who represented homeless veterans
and housing discrimination victims in California, Fried serves as a Beth Din consultant at Chabad SF and is listed in Marquis Who's Who. He is also a writer and housing philanthropist. Jonathan is a seasoned entrepreneur and operator with deep experience across capital markets, financial infrastructure, data systems, and regulated technology platforms. His work has consistently focused on building systems that sit beneath markets—where structure, compliance, and scale matter.
Jonathan has been active in investment banking and ecosystem development across net-zero carbon, crypto, and blockchain markets, with an emphasis on community building and socially aligned capital formation through 5D Partners.
He has been recognized for charitable and community leadership, including work with Chabad, the Rabbi Foundation, WAVES (Dunes Beach), and other organizations, supporting both direct giving and philanthropic strategy.
Previously, Jonathan served as CEO of Wookey, where he led the turnaround of a long-standing search and web technology company and orchestrated the acquisition of Sansar, a leading virtual reality platform from Linden Lab. The transaction repositioned the company around immersive web technology and next-generation digital experiences. (See: Linden Lab press release on Sansar acquisition.)
Earlier in his career, Jonathan built large-scale data intake and processing systems for major financial institutions, including Bank of America and Washington Mutual (later acquired by Chase), supporting loan modification and mortgage crisis response efforts that impacted over $250 million in his personal borrower portfolios.
From 2013–2016, he developed automation software for government and immigration workflows, including large-scale form translation and processing. That work later expanded into humanitarian applications during the 2015 Haitian migrant crisis.
In subsequent ventures, Jonathan founded and built platforms across legal technology, machine learning–driven justice systems, and court services automation. In 2018, he launched In-Court, a software platform designed to improve access and reduce bias in legal proceedings.
In 2019, Jonathan architected and designed an early version of an e-registry and e-vault system for startups and early-stage investors—a foundation that now directly informs his current work at RegisterStocks.
As a Bay Area native, Jonathan has developed an extensive network across venture capital, private markets, technology, and financial services, and is known for his ability to raise capital, recruit high-caliber teams, and navigate complex early-stage environments.
Today, Jonathan is focused on building Fortune e-Vault Inc. product RegisterStocks.com, creating long-term infrastructure for private markets to support provenance, registry, and liquidity readiness for early-stage instruments.
Outside of work, he enjoys sailing, restoring boats, motorsports, golf, and tennis, and continues to support causes including homeless veterans, transitional housing, and community-based charitable initiatives.
