Jonathan Fredi, born and bred in Nashville, Tennessee, has made significant strides in public affairs, particularly within the energy and utilities sector. His professional journey is an eclectic mix of international relations, educational improvements, government roles, and corporate public affairs. Underlying his extraordinary career is a solid
academic base and an unwavering resolution to make a positive difference in society. Outside his professional sphere, Jonathan is known for his culinary skills, love for travel, and passion for outdoor activities like fly fishing, all of which speak to his adventurous spirit and cultural curiosity.
Fredi began his academic pursuits at Louisiana State University, majoring in Spanish Linguistics. His educational journey culminated at the University of Barcelona, Spain, where he received a Master's in International Relations. During his five years in Spain, he contributed to a UNESCO division, focusing on improving education for women, thereby reaffirming his dedication to sustainable and accessible education.
Upon his return to the U.S. in 2012, Jonathan leaped into the world of public service, joining the office of U.S. Senator John Cornyn. Here, he played crucial roles in constituent relations and Hispanic outreach. By 2015, he had migrated into the non-profit realm, working with the USGLC, where he played a pivotal role in defending the international affairs budget. His work largely revolved around fostering international and economic development and promoting diplomatic strategies as preferable alternatives to Department of Defense interventions.
Jonathan took another career turn in 2019, moving into the energy and utility sector as the Head of Community Engagement at Baldwin Associates. His role encompassed various responsibilities, from negotiating gas prices and franchise agreements to handling crisis management and directing philanthropic funds. Representing more than 20 cities in North Texas, he spearheaded a team to build Dallas's first zero-net energy Habitat for Humanity home.
Jonathan is an ardent nature enthusiast and devoted community volunteer outside his professional life. His love for the outdoors demonstrated through hiking, camping, and fishing, harks back to his Eagle Scout days. His passion for cooking and his interest in traveling were honed during his time in Spain, enabling him to savor diverse cultures and their cuisines.
Philanthropically, Jonathan contributes to the Cooke County United Way and actively serves on the board of several organizations. He also mentors through the Big Brother Big Sisters of Irving, reflecting his commitment to community enrichment.
