I run two ACE groups near Bristol. These are invitation only peer groups of successful and ambitous business owners, CEO's and MD's. "Successful" for these people means consistent double digit growth, year on year, and some are considerably more than that! Members run multi £m t-o businesses from a wide variety of sectors [never
two the same] and meet once a month to acquire new skills; discuss issues in our confidential Board Meeting; enjoy an annual goal setting retreat; and receive mentoring.
My qualifications for this are 25+ years successful career at MD and Group MD level in a variety of technical, manufacturing and engineering businesses, and in a variety of stakeholder environments. During my last corporate role [running a global specialist technology division of a quoted group] I spent six years as a member of an ACE CEO Forum. ON leaving that role I became an ACE chairman, and set up 2 new ACE groups. I also at that time took a post graduate diploma in executive coaching, and am an accredited Executive Coach.
Not being able to resist the "Business Bug", I invested in and am now MD of Caption Data Ltd., a small technology start-up company specialising in remote monitoring technology and products for environmental & structural monitoring and OEM embedded systems.
I am also an NED and Board Advisor to 2 other companies. One a specialist internet retailer and the other a technical field engineering business.
In my leisure time I enjoy sailing, skiing, time in France, good food and wine, socialising with friends and family. Sometimes I do actually get time to go sailing as well [but rarely when the weather is any good! ]
