Jon Castor is an entrepreneur and active independent public and private company director. In his 25+ year career he's led, co-led, and helped build substantial new businesses, including both classic Silicon Valley venture funded startups and two new divisions for Fortune 500 companies.
He has more than a billion dollars of successful
M&A 'exit' transaction experience, including leading the team of a venture he co-founded through a double exit, and bridging the gap in a highly charged activist investor situation as the '7th director' on a split public company board. His industry experience includes classic tech (ICs, systems, software), and energy (multiple forms of advanced power generation, oil & gas).
An expert in Zenverge's field of digital media, Jon was Chairman of the Board of Omneon, a world leader in broadcast video servers, and CEO of TeraLogic, a pioneering venture in HDTV SOCs supported by Sony, Mitsubishi, and Samsung. His interests include astrophysics, medical technology, environmental science, and trialing an all electric BMW ActiveE with his son.
Jon has an MBA from Stanford's Graduate School of Business, and a BA with Distinction from Northwestern University.
