John is a Biomedical Design Engineer with over 12 years industry experience. He graduated from the University of Limerick in 2002 with a first class honours degree. He has worked in both large multinational medical device companies and smaller academic research centres. He has led numerous projects as principle design engineer from concept through
to worldwide commercialisation. Within his current academic role he has patented numerous ENT technologies one of which was licensed from the institute in 2013. John is the principal inventor and design engineer of the AventaMed technology.
