John Taylor is the CEO & Co-Founder of Grit Companies, a platform of companies focused on building and scaling high-performing home service brands across the United States. Since founding Grit in 2020, he has helped grow the organization into one of the fastest-growing platforms in the industry, generating hundreds of millions in contracted
revenue through a combination of sales excellence, operational execution, and strategic partnerships.
Through Grit Marketing, John and his team built one of the largest sales organizations in the home services industry, initially partnering with leading independent pest control operators across the country to drive customer acquisition and growth. In 2024, Grit expanded into operating its own home service brands through Mira Home, vertically integrating sales and operations as part of a broader long-term platform vision.
Prior to Grit, John spent several years helping scale one of the largest door-to-door sales organizations in the country, where he developed a deep passion for leadership, culture, and building teams capable of sustained elite performance. Today, his work sits at the intersection of entrepreneurship, leadership development, private investing, and long-term institution building.
John is particularly passionate about creating cultures centered around ownership, accountability, growth, and impact. His leadership philosophy is rooted in the belief that leadership drives culture, culture drives behavior, and behavior drives results. Across Grit and its affiliated companies, he is focused on building organizations that create meaningful opportunities for employees, partners, customers, and communities alike.
In recent years, John has expanded his focus into strategic investing, acquisitions, and technology-enabled services, with an emphasis on founder-led businesses and scalable service platforms. He is especially interested in how AI, operational systems, and aligned incentives can transform traditionally fragmented industries.
Outside of business, John is deeply committed to his faith, family, personal growth, and mentorship. He and his wife Emily are raising their three children in Utah. At OPM, JT is exploring how to evolve from founder-led intensity into long-term institution building while maintaining the culture, energy, and entrepreneurial spirit that fueled the company’s early growth.
