John is a Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in Australia and has been involved in public practice in various capacities for over 40 years, and continues to manage an accounting practice in downtown Sydney. His extensive experience includes advising on taxation and strategic planning matters as well as financial management and general
business advisory. He has previously served as a director of a number of public companies which have been taken over or merged with other companies including Eastern Australia Airlines Limited (now part of Qantas) and Salamander Gold Mines NL which was taken over by Climax Mining Limited (now part of Oceana Gold Corp.). He maintains an active involvement in the mining industry through association with an operating mining company in Queensland, Australia.
