John Scherer is Senior Manager- CFO Services/Business Development for Eide Bailly LLP, a regional certified public accounting and business advisory firm. In that capacity, he is charged with the dual responsibilities of growing the firm's various businesses and leading the CFO Services practice. Mr. Scherer was formerly a Partner in the
Arizona practice of Tatum, a national professional services firm focused on financial and technology leadership.
He also served as Managing Partner in Arizona with oversight of both the CFO and Controllership practices. Prior to joining Tatum, he served as CFO for both privately and publicly held companies focusing on distribution, retail trade and manufacturing/processing.Mr. Scherer is Founder, Owner and President of Scherer Strategic Solutions, LLC, a consulting firm providing integrated strategic and financial planning and modeling. As Vice President and Chief Financial Officer for privately held Strategic Equipment and Supply Corporation, he grew sales and EBITDA in excess of 10% the first year for this food equipment and supply distributor.
He negotiated four acquisitions in a three-year period as Vice President and Chief Financial Officer for Nash Finch Company, the then third largest publicly traded grocery wholesaler and retailer where he grew sales 46%.Mr. Scherer has a Master of Science in Business Administration from Indiana University and a Bachelors of Science in Business degree from Eastern Illinois University. He has served on the boards of both for-profit and non-profit organizations and is a founding board member of the Association for Corporate Growth (ACG).
