Sandwick has been a Swiss private banker since 1993, and an investment banker since 1989. His expertise is in Islamic wealth and asset management and Islamic asset securitization. Mr. Sandwick is an innovator in Islamic banking, creating the first structures for a sukuk fund, sukuk participation note, Saudi REIT, and European corporate sukuk. He
also created the first practical Islamic portfolio management allocations and professional-use Islamic mutual fund databases. He was a director at the Middle East Policy Council, and later served at Deutsche Bank (Suisse) S.A. and Banque Leu S.A. (Credit Suisse). He was then managing director of Encore Management S.A., in partnership with UBS, before founding the world’s first Islamic portfolio management company, Safa Investment Services, in 2012.
