"Mike" Murray is responsible for leading a team of Soldiers and civilians to streamline the Army's modernization enterprise under a single command, which enhances efficiency and effectiveness in delivering the technology necessary to maintain the Army's competitive advantage and win wars.
Murray is from Kenton,
Ohio, and commissioned as an infantry officer in the Army upon graduating from The Ohio State University in 1982. He has a history of leading in Texas, having commanded a brigade combat team during Operation Iraqi Freedom within one of the most decorated combat divisions of the Army, which happens to be from Fort Hood. As a commander, Murray has offered support for global efforts, such as U.S. Forces Afghanistan and Seventh Army in Germany, as well as integrated Army funding, fielding and equipping actions to meet current and future military force requirements.
