Mr. Kanik has over 20 years of industry experience working with major and intermediate oil and gas companies as well as an industry association. Mr. Kanik’s experience is broad ranging having held responsibilities in the areas of energy sales, purchasing, logistics, business development, risk management and regulatory affairs in both upstream and
downstream. Mr. Kanik graduated from the University of Alberta with a Bachelor of Arts degree majoring in Economics.
John has been with NAL since February 2009 managing NAL’s marketing department, overseeing the trading, transportation, optimization and risk management of NAL’s crude oil, natural gas, natural gas liquids and power portfolios. Prior to joining NAL, Mr. Kanik spent several years with the Canadian Association of Petroleum Producers (CAPP) managing the Associations Oil Markets and Pipelines division. During John’s tenure with CAPP he was successful in negotiating and managing multiple pipeline incentive toll deals as well as pipeline expansion projects throughout Canada and the United States.
