You can’t manage what you can't measure" is a well-known quote from Peter Drucker. Many organizations measure something, but what do you do with the data? Where do you even start? ITIL provides many examples of Critical Success Factors
(CSFs), Key Performance Indicators (KPIs), and metrics, but how do we know what works for our organization? How do we show that IT is providing value to the organization? And, also very important – what are the best measurement tools? These are all important questions J.C. and his colleagues asked.
In this session, J.C. will discuss how Minnesota State University, Mankato has begun to tackle these challenges to clearly show the value and make data driven decisions. J.C. also addresses how they have begun to use business intelligence and data science practices to learn from their past and perform predictive analysis on the future through the use of tools like the Balanced Scorecard and management reports.
