John Ellis founded Optics for Hire in 2002 and continues to serve as its CEO. During this period John has bootstrapped the company from an idea to a premier optical engineering consulting firm. He previously served as VP of Marketing for a NASDAQ listed data storage firm- Constellation 3D. John has held sales and marketing positions in capital
equipment and software industries. He holds a BA from Haverford College. He is active in the Boston area entrepreneurial community and mentors teams in the MIT 100K business plan contest. His hobbies include running a crowd sourced plant and flower identification website called Mister Smarty Plants.
