In May 2004, he opened McKeon Financial: “An Independent Financial Planning Firm Specializing in Non-Stock Market Investments.” John grew up in Hawaii, graduating from Punahou School on Oahu in 1983. Following one year of college at Iowa State University on a Naval ROTC Scholarship, John was accepted to the U.S. Naval Academy, where he graduated
with distinction (top 10% of his class) in 1988 with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Mathematics. He then received a scholarship and graduated from Penn State University in 1990 with a Master’s Degree in Nuclear Engineering.
