I've always been in to tech. It all started when I learned to program on a TRS-80 when I was 7 or 8, and it just snowballed from there. I also loved to cook so I was a chef for about 10 years, but even then I was all about computers. I even built an automated ordering system decades before 'automation' was a thing. I bent Lotus 1-2-3
to my will and had it talk to our suppliers over a 2400 baud modem. It worked pretty well for the most part, but I do remember a time when I took delivery of several hundred pounds of mushrooms that I didn't actually need. "Whoops!" I knew where the bug was right away, but it was a lot of mushrooms.
Later I was a software engineer for 20 years in the high-stakes world of financial services. I had the opportunity to play with the highest tech in the world, and learned how to make it sing. Along the way I also learned how to be a professional programmer. That's very different from being a tech enthusiast or a hobby programmer.
I'm a co-founder of two companies.
I'm the President and Technology Practice Lead with Thinkpiece Partners - a qualitative market research company specialized in Technology, Healthcare and B2B research.
I'm also the CEO of StreamAI, a pre-market startup focused on building software and technology products designed to help business be successful and profitable. Our product roadmap is informed and inspired by the actual needs of business. We build tools, not toys.
I love what I do because I'm constantly learning new things, and because I'm able to take what I learn to create. Creation for creation's sake is gratifying, but what really gets me up in the morning is being able to help other businesses move their brands forward using what I've created. That has help true at Thinkpiece Partners for years, and it's what inspired the founding of StreamAI.
