Mr. Mabie founded Mid-Continent Capital in 1983 and serves as its Chairman. He graduated with honors from Williams College and spent twenty-nine years at the former A.G. Becker Paribas Incorporated and its predecessor companies. He was Vice Chairman of the Board and a member of its Investment, Operating and Audit Committees. John also served
as a Director and Chairman of the Finance Committee at Reading Co. and as Chairman of the Petroleum Intelligence Group. He was a Director of SG Warburg’s offshore mutual funds and a Director of the Lou Holland Mutual Fund. Mr. Mabie served on the advisory boards of three venture capital companies: Frontenac Company, New Enterprise Associates and Syndicated Communications. In addition, John is active civically. He is a Life Trustee of the University of Chicago Hospitals, as well as past Chairman of both the Finance and Investment Committees. He was President of the Alumni Association of Williams College. He is also a Trustee of the Brain Research Foundation, a Trustee of the Loblolly Community Foundation and a Trustee of the Millennium Park Foundation.
