John D. Dempsey, CPA, CFE, created Dempsey Partners in 1982 to provide corporate risk managers with professional loss accounting services devoted to business interruption claim preparation services. Building on early successes, the firm also performs business interruption and supply chain exposure value analysis, property damage assessments,
investigations and employee dishonesty insurance claims, and litigation support services. With over 30 years of forensic accounting and investigative experience, Mr. Dempsey has represented major corporations around the world in the analysis and presentation of complex loss of earnings and white-collar crime claims, and has provided trial consulting services and expert testimony in civil litigation and ADR matters.
Mr. Dempsey represents companies in a diverse range of business and industry, including transportation, forest products, energy and petrochemical, mining, financial services, distribution and retail, technology, hospitality, health care, packaging, and broadcasting. All told, he has been directly involved in the calculation and recovery of several billion dollars in insured losses. A frequent lecturer on business interruption, crime, exposure value, and claims topics, he is based at the firm's Wilton, CT office.
