John Lee currently serves as an independent board director and offers corporate advisory services to both public and private companies.
John is the former Founder, Chairman of the Board of Directors and Chief Executive Officer at Lee Technologies Inc., a Fairfax, Va. based company which he founded in 1983 and successfully grew to $140 million
in revenue in 2011. During these 28 years of sustained growth, Lee Technologies became the nation's leading expert on design/build, commissioning, facilities operations & staffing, and 24x7 monitoring of a data center's critical infrastructure. Lee Technologies served customers across industries including the federal government, financial services, telecommunications, information technology and healthcare.
John created a very unique corporate culture within Lee Technologies, incorporating a professional work environment with a social and philanthropic commitment to community and a balance between work and family obligations. John continues to set an outstanding example as a dedicated business leader, on both a community and state-wide level.
Lee Technologies was acquired in 2011 by Schneider Electric, a Paris, France based global specialist in energy management. Lee maintained a senior leadership position with Schneider Electric until his departure in December 2014.
Currently, John serves on various corporate Boards including Middleburg Financial Corporation (public); Canara (Columbia Capital), Primary Integration (Rotunda Capital) and Aegis Mobile.
John also serves on various nonprofit Boards including the Wolf Trap Foundation for the Performing Arts (Chairman 2012-2014), Virginia Tech Board of Visitors, Cal Ripken Sr. Foundation, Loyola University Maryland Board of Trustees, Northern Virginia Technology Council (NVTC - Chairman 2005-2008) and The Economic Club of Washington, D.C.
Previous Boards served include Viewpoint Software (Updata Partners and TA Associates), Randolph Macon College and Virginia Foundation for Independent Colleges (VFIC).
John holds a Bachelor of Arts in economics from Randolph-Macon College (1979) in Ashland, Va., and resides with his wife in Middleburg, Va. and Washington, D.C.
