In 1996, John Anstey founded Elcom Technology at the Australian Technology Park in Sydney.
Elcom is now the largest Australian .NET Web Content Management (WCM) developer with over 1,000 implementations and an international partner network.
In January 2011, Elcom opened its
New York office to engage with North American partners to assist their clients to gain value from their investment in the elcomCMS.
In July 2012, Elcom opened its San Francisco office, to work closer with technology partners in the Bay area.
John was a key member of the consortium that developed and supported e-tax, which enabled taxpayers to lodge their tax returns via the Internet. This was the most successful e-government system deployed by the Australian Taxation Office. Elcom developed the website, databases, secure forms, security software, integrated call centre software and audit trail reports.
Prior to forming Elcom in 1996, John was the Information Technology Director of Corporate Express, when it became the largest office products supplier in Australia. The systems that John implemented enabled Corporate Express to have the largest and most integrated B2B Internet solution in Australia.
