Joerg was involved in the broadband cable infrastructure build out at the then Federal Post (Telekom). He has a degree in communications engineering with diploma thesis on the development of an Ethernet communication
module for Siemens AG, Erlangen. He worked on the development of microprocessor-controlled communication and control assemblies at Siemens
He worked at Cisco Systems from 1993 to 2015. Working as a key account executive with the focus on internet service providers, alternative carriers and mobile network providers (including MobilCom and Vodafone). Co-development of the emerging cable market with a revenue responsibility of US $ 95 million.
In discussions with customers and on the basis of the experience gained from cable networks, mobile Internet and TV as well as fast-growing markets and organizations, the product idea for "HelEOS" was born. Following positive feedback from the technical board members of Vodafone, Kabel Deutschland and UPC (Amsterdam), in March 2015 Jörg Hellwig founded i-NX / today GiaX to further develop the HelEOS product idea on an independent level and bring it to market maturity.
