As an investor and serial entrepreneur, Joel's lifelong goal is to invest in and support 10,000 innovative individuals and companies around the world. The purpose is to bring sustainable and smart development to global communities, including via the use of artificial intelligence (AI).
With the speciality in AI and FinTech, Joel develops and
invests in related projects and accelerates portfolio companies. For the past 3 years, he has reviewed over 500 FinTech and AI startups to invest and incubate. He co-founded several registered fund management companies as well as incubated many startups. Recently, Joel is passionately committed to launching an AI-driven investment platform called ‘Deepbase AI’ globally.
Joel has written widely on the topic of AI, FinTech, Innovation, and Entrepreneurship for publications including Yahoo, The Business Times and Tech In Asia, and has volunteered actively as a mentor for startups from Startupbootcamp, Wayra UK etc. He is also a seasoned speaker at international conferences on those topics, and was selected as a LinkedIn Power Profile for Singapore in Finance in 2018. As an Affiliate Faculty, he lectures AI and FinTech at Singapore Management University. Joel holds an MBA from the National University of Singapore Business School.
