Dr. Jozef Cornu, also known as Jo, serves as the Managing Director and Chairman of Alcatel NV. Dr. Cornu served as an Advisor to Chairman of Alcatel-Lucent, S.A. (formerly, Alcatel). He served as the Managing Director and President of Agfa-Gevaert N.V. He served as the Chief Executive Officer of Agfa-Gevaert N.V., from December 1, 2007 to April 27,
2010. He served as Chief Operating Officer and Chief Executive Officer of Alcatel Telecom from 1995 to 1999. He served as a member of the Executive Committee of Alcatel NV from 1988 to 1995. He served as Advisor to the Chairman of Alcatel from 2000 to 2004.
He joined the Alcatel Group as Member of the Management board and was responsible for technical and industrial questions of Alcatel NV from 1988 to 1995. Dr. Cornu served as Chief Technical Officer of Alcatel Alsthom since 1992. He started his career in as an Engineer at the Brown Boveri research center in Baden (Switzerland) from 1970 to 1973 and Design Center Manager of Bell Telephone in Antwerp (Belgium) from 1973 to 1983.
